James Chance is our hero... the coolest person ever born in Wisconsin and our favourite alto saxophone player on earth. I'd say the greatest concert I ever attended was James White and the Blacks at Duffy's (long since gone) in Minneapolis in the early '80s. He and his band literally blew the plaster off the walls. God love him. JC says, "...the song 'Down and Dirty' was kind of inspired by a scene in The Man With The Golden Arm where Frank Sinatra deals the cards and says, 'Here they come now, down and dirty.'"
