Match Maker

FILE Magazine... Match Maker by Alison Garnett. "...Every diptych creates a memory. Not a history, or an archive but an imaginary narrative, that when combined with the nostalgic quality of Time Zero film – the soft focus and cyan tones – it creates a time and a place and a story that feels real and familiar. My sets are rarely created with a diptych in mind. Rather, it is more of an after thought, a game of match, with a little imagination thrown into the mix. It is a word, a shape and sometimes a religious icon, that bond the two together, hence adding a new level of creative storytelling to the pair. Despite the demise of Time Zero in 2006, as my supply of film diminishes, my love for instant pictures grows ever stronger."
